Hostile Attribution Bias Modification

A distinct cognitive-modification lineage visible at EFCAP 2026. It must remain separate from attention-bias modification.

2026 study nodes

Mechanism target

Hostile attribution bias (HAB): a tendency to interpret ambiguous social actions as hostile or intentionally harmful.

Downstream constructs appearing in the 2026 programme

  • aggression;
  • emotion regulation;
  • angry rumination;
  • narcissism.

These constructs are not interchangeable and should not be collapsed into a single antisocial outcome field.

Evidence status

Conference-stage. Public EFCAP pages verify titles and authors but do not expose results-bearing abstracts. No matching peer-reviewed outcome paper was located in the v0.3.4 audit.

Current conclusion

The lineage demonstrates active intervention development, not yet publicly verifiable efficacy for the named outcomes.
