2026 Conference Claim Ledger

Purpose

Freeze the substantive intervention claims made in Fanti's 2026 EFCAP and EAPL keynote descriptions before reverse-mapping them to peer-reviewed evidence. This ledger is the evidentiary target; supporting papers must match intervention, population, comparator, endpoint, and follow-up rather than merely resemble the claim.

EAPL-05 audit result

The 2025 randomized feasibility study of active cTBS + AMT reports that the combined active treatment was not superior to sham cTBS + active AMT for reducing self-reported anxiety symptoms, although attentional and gaze outcomes changed. The first-priority audit is complete. The peer-reviewed trial does not substantiate incremental anxiety reduction from the combined active treatment. A targeted search did not identify a separate peer-reviewed Fanti-led study that supplies that missing incremental effect. The claim therefore remains a tension unless unpublished or later evidence is identified.

v0.3.3 update — EFCAP-01 / EAPL-01 identity audit

The phrase computerized cognitive modification is now treated as a conference-level umbrella, not one intervention. At least three distinct Fanti-linked lineages are publicly identifiable: GENAMAT AMT/cTBS+AMT, standalone ABM/eye-tracking, and hostile-attribution-bias modification; a fourth 2026 'combined ABM' community study remains identity-incomplete. Current status:

  • positive/emotional attention: matched-proximal via the 2025 GENAMAT RCT;
  • anxiety: matched-partial/tension because AMT-related anxiety change is present but active cTBS did not add superiority;
  • anger: conference-only/unmapped-to-peer-reviewed-outcome;
  • antisocial behavior: unmapped-to-peer-reviewed-outcome;
  • psychopathic traits: unmapped-to-peer-reviewed-outcome.

v0.3.4 update — endpoint provenance audit

A systematic public-source search did not recover results-bearing abstracts or peer-reviewed outcome papers for the four EFCAP 2026 cognitive-modification presentations. The conference programme establishes that these studies occurred and identifies the constructs they targeted, but it does not establish outcome direction or effect magnitude.

  • Impact VR peer-reviewed RCTs: adjacent ecosystem evidence for CU traits, conduct problems, reactive aggression, emotion recognition, relationships and social stress; Fanti is not an author on the located efficacy papers.

v0.3.7 brain-stimulation claim resolution

EFCAP-04 / EAPL-04 — emotion recognition + APD/ASPD symptom reduction

  • Emotion-recognition improvement: matched-proximal / fulltext-verified via Konikkou, Kostantinou & Fanti (2020).
  • APD relevance: supported-with-qualification; effect concentrated in a group elevated on baseline ASRI-4 APD symptoms, not a clinically diagnosed ASPD sample.
  • APD/ASPD symptom reduction: not demonstrated in located Fanti-led evidence; APD symptoms were not remeasured post-stimulation in the 2020 study.
  • Later 2025 cTBS evidence: strengthens emotional-attention/mechanism branch but does not provide an APD/ASPD symptom endpoint.
  • Overall status: tension / matched-proximal.
