Decision tested

Whether Genealogy v1 should be rendered as one comprehensive graph or as a master orientation plus sectional technical views.

Result

Use the layered architecture. Keep the complete graph only as an audit/reference object.

Test 1 — Can the reader trace the program from heterogeneity to intervention without prose?

Pass with qualification. The Master Orientation preserves four visible movements:

  1. developmental heterogeneity and equifinality;
  2. psychophysiological / emotional mechanism testing;
  3. behavioral and technology-enhanced manipulation;
  4. 2026 translation claims and unresolved evidence gates.

The orientation deliberately does not display every study. It displays the hinges needed to recover the research logic.

Test 2 — Can the reader see where evidence becomes weaker?

Pass. Constraint and evidence-gap nodes are separate objects. Conference/keynote synthesis remains distinct from Grade A/B experimental nodes. The full evidentiary metadata remains one click away in generated canonical node pages and the edge register.

Test 3 — Can the reader distinguish historical continuation from demonstrated scientific causation?

Partial pass in Canvas; full pass in the substrate. Obsidian Canvas does not natively encode separate line styles for historical and evidentiary confidence with sufficient precision. Therefore the Canvas uses relationship labels and explicit OPEN markers, while the canonical edge register remains authoritative. Mermaid supplies dashed edges for low-evidence/hypothesis/open-gate relationships.

Resolution: do not attempt to encode both confidence dimensions solely through Canvas color. Doing so would overload the visual grammar. Use click-through node/edge metadata for the second dimension.

Test 4 — Are the four principal open claims visible as unresolved?

Pass. The master view visibly preserves:

  • direct brain-stimulation reduction of APD/ASPD symptoms;
  • HRV biofeedback reduction of CU traits;
  • direct Fanti VR composite efficacy;
  • prospective biomarker-guided treatment matching.

Identified limitation — timeline precision

The master orientation is a temporal genealogy, not a literal scale timeline. Construct and mechanism nodes do not have a single publication year and therefore cannot be plotted as if they were dated events.

Resolution: use dated study nodes to carry chronology and position construct/mechanism nodes near the studies that establish or formalize them. A later dedicated Temporal Atlas can add a true publication axis without forcing undated constructs onto false dates.

Identified limitation — static Canvas width

Flowershow renders Canvas statically. A single 59-node graph would require excessive horizontal/vertical space and weaken mobile use.

Resolution: master overview + four sectional maps. The full graph remains available for audit.

Final stage decision

The v0.5 prototype should be treated as the visual grammar test, not polished final design. The next stage should refine labels and reading order from these maps, then create the true Temporal Atlas and Construct Migration overlay. Do not begin Flowershow styling until these maps are visually inspected in both Obsidian and Flowershow rendering.

Prototype rendering correction

A local static preview of the first horizontal master showed that a literal wide-axis genealogy becomes compressed and label-dense when scaled. The master has therefore been revised to a four-stage vertical genealogy. This is intentional: the current artifact explains intellectual development; the later Temporal Atlas will carry literal chronological scale.

The revised master keeps card text minimal and moves detailed source grade, population, incoming/outgoing relationships, and inference boundaries into the linked canonical node pages.
