Aggression is not unitary -> CU traits identify meaningful subgroups -> primary/secondary variants and multidimensional psychopathy -> differing emotional, physiological, and neurocognitive profiles

Probable convergence zone: ~2015–2020

Subtyping + psychophysiology + neurocognition + emotion processing -> candidate mechanisms become measurable -> eye gaze / startle / heart rate / amygdala / DLPFC -> mechanisms become experimentally manipulable

Intervention stream

School prevention -> emotion-attention manipulation -> parent-child emotion intervention -> AMT / cTBS / HRV / VR programs

Current translational proposition

Mechanism-informed intervention may improve behavioral and emotional outcomes.

Unresolved gate

Evidence that a proximal mechanism can be altered is not equivalent to evidence of durable reduction in antisocial behavior, clinical disorder, or forensic outcomes.
