Finding

Decision-making, selective-attention, and future-orientation deficits were associated with conduct-disorder presentations regardless of CU level; children high in CU traits without CD showed less risky decision making than children high in both CD and CU traits.

Why it matters

The result constrains an overly simple subtype hypothesis: not every neurocognitive deficit neatly separates CU-defined conduct-disorder groups.

Constraint

Some candidate neurocognitive mechanisms appear transdiagnostic across conduct-disorder subtypes rather than CU-specific.
